Batteries have the potential to transform the way we work and live.
The increased accessibility to battery-powered alternatives for equipment like riding mowers and snowblowers is already changing jobsites and how we maintain and care for our homes and greenspaces.
As we turn to high-energy batteries (300+ watt hours) more frequently, we need to address the unique demands this growth places on our recycling infrastructure to ensure the safety of people, property and the environment. One way of addressing these challenges is to provide our customers with simple options for recycling out-of-service high-energy batteries.
To accomplish this, we partner with Call2Recycle, Inc., along with the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute and the Power Tool Institute, to establish the High Energy Battery Recycling Program. This initiative, made possible through voluntary funding by us and other like-minded manufacturers, aims to facilitate the safe collection and responsible recycling of high-energy batteries.
The program creates a network of trained collection sites where users can easily drop off their out-of-service batteries. This effort not only ensures the safe handling and recycling of these powerful energy sources but also reinforces our commitment to sustainability.
By addressing the entire lifecycles of these products, we’re taking steps to encourage recycling and reduce unnecessary landfill waste. With this goal, we’re doing our part to lead the way and create sustainable solutions.
