Michael Bartone is Vice President, Corporate Tax for Stanley Black & Decker. In this position, he is responsible for corporate investments and risk management related to the company’s financial activities.
Mike joined Stanley Black & Decker in 1987 as Director of Domestic Taxes, where he was responsible for the overall management and supervision of the domestic tax function. In 1995, Mike was named Director, Corporate Taxes. In this role, he had accountability for the overall management and administration of the worldwide effective tax rate and income tax, sales and use tax, and property tax functions. In 2002, Mike was named as an Executive Officer and promoted to Vice President, Corporate Taxes.
Prior to joining the company, Mike was a tax consultant with Deloitte & Touche, LLP and a paralegal for Farrell, Fritz, Caemmerer, Cleary, Barnosky & Armentano, P.C.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. John’s University, a juris doctor degree from Quinnipiac College School of Law and an LLM degree in Tax from Boston University School of Law.
He is a member of the New York State Bar, Second Judicial Department and holds memberships/enrollment in the American Bar Association, Section of Taxation, New York State Bar Association, Committee on Corporate Taxation, MAPI – Manufacturers Alliance Tax Council II and the National Association of Manufacturers.
