Kalitta Motorsports is a premier National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Championship Drag Racing team based just outside of Detroit, Michigan.
The sports organization was founded by drag racing and aviation pioneer, Connie Kalitta (aka, “The Bounty Hunter”).
Kalitta was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame in June of 1992 for his tremendous contribution to the sport. Winner of five world championships, Kalitta set the world’s speed record on more than one occasion.
Although not currently in the driver’s seat, Connie remains the team owner for the two dragsters and one funny car Team Kalitta fields in the Camping World NHRA Series. Driving one of those dragsters for MAC Tools is Doug Kalitta, nephew of Connie and 5th on the all-time top fuel win list. Not only are the Kalitta’s legendary in the sport of drag racing, but in the aviation world as well – owning air cargo company Kalitta Air and air charter company, Kalitta Charters.
