We want to inspire people to care for and enjoy the outdoor spaces they create.

That’s why it’s important to stay safe when using outdoor power equipment. Whether you’re an experienced user or not, it’s vital to read and review the safety precautions for any equipment you plan on using at the beginning of each season.

General Safety Tips for Operating Outdoor Power Equipment

  • Know any piece of outdoor power equipment before operating it, and make sure anyone who may use the equipment reads, understands and follows the warnings and instructions in the operator’s manual and on the machine.

  • Clean and maintain the equipment regularly and in accordance with instructions in the operator’s manual and on the machine.
  • Handle power sources – whether gasoline, battery or electric powered equipment – carefully, in accordance with instructions in the operator’s manual and on the machine.
